It seems there are lots of reports of hives coming through winter in good condition and building up fast, that's great news.
One of the factors supporting this is the condition of the winter bees last autumn, lots & lots of pollen stores.
Bees need lots of carbs over winter, but don't forget the need for pollen (protein) come the autumn. It pays dividends the following spring.
