I leave it in for varroa counting during treatment. I've seen the gunk it accumulates if left in all the time at assoc apiary,not nice. If a virgin queen is flying,then you can leave it in(it's said to prevent her going under the hive in error).

It was so stifling hot here, I put the dogs towel on the closed floor box(damp towel). Budgie wasn't to pleased as she likes that one!

Does the spray have to be a particular scent? Will the nectar/honey be affected? Can it be used to clear supers?

Gave myself an headache...changing from commercials to 14x12. Virgin should have emerged last monday,can't find her or see eggs in comm nuc. Commercial hive bias but so chocky that I can''t find HM to mark. Now got bees on all sizes frames in 3 different hives etc. Need a drink me thinks.
