Hi all
I have just returned form overseas I had a quick look at the bees and I think they need a feed. What would be best 2 to 1 surip feed or ambrosia feed.

Thanks.

This was a quote from ITLD a while back https://www.beekeepingforum.co.uk/showpost.php?p=169812&postcount=43 from this thread https://www.beekeepingforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=13509&highlight=Syrup+feed+November Invert syrup for this time of year or feed fondant, contact feeders would be preferable to rapid feeders, but it depends on the insulation you have in the roof and around the feeder, 2 to 1 sugar syrup may give them dysentery. If the invert syrup isn't touched, then feed with fondant.

Thanks for replying.
In my case it will be a contact feeder also the feeder will be inside a thermal cover as will the hive, the roof has Insolation on the inside If this is ok would a 2 to 1 mix be correct. I have just put some Fondent over the feeding hole on the top cover and they are all over it so I think I will continue to feed them with Fondent untill they stop.

Thanks

1kg sugar and 680ml water = 60%

IF warm enough bees will take it... but with temps dropping across the UK fondant should be considered?

Nos da
