I started with an old national hive when I was about 19, then built my own modifying the beespace. Someone gave me a WBC and with this 'team' pulled about 100Lbs of honey a year from London gardens. A move to the country followed and over the years the apiary grew to 25 hives. Getting remarried changed things and the hives went but now getting back into it all - currently building a pair of Langstroths from scratch including frames.

Sounds good! Welcome back to beekeeping. :)

Welcome. Can you elaborate on the bee space modifications for a National hive? Or do you just mean changed from bottom to top bee space?

Back in business :winner1st: Picked up a very nice five frame nuc today, lovely mellow buckfast crosses. Great to meet their seller!

If you are thinking of starting beekeeping you would not go wrong with these bees.

BS frames now converted to langstroth.
