For getting stiff honey or cappings out of a bucket get yourselves a stainless steel bucket trowel, dead handy, wish I'd got one years ago!

Only half a post, where did you get your trowel please?

Builders merchant, I've just spotted something not dissimilar in the screwfix catalogue in the hand tools section called a bucket trowel believe it or not.

No... you don't want one of those ..what you need is my specialist Beekeepers bucket scraping tool .. stainless steel with a turned wooden handle .. a real snip at £24.99 including postage ...

:)

Any advice on how to crack walnuts..... you must have a device for that?

I've got something similar for cleaning my solar wax extractor. It's great!

Funny you should say that ... My patent, hand crafted, walnut cracker is available for sale at a snip of a price .. a mere £24.99 .. minimum effort guaranteed success every time .. buy a pair and you can sort your pigs out as well .. Does it hurt ? Only if you get your thumbs trapped !

The old ones are the best ...

I agree the old ones are the best but this one is far superior to your red one.

I have successfully used our silicone kitchen spatula for the very same purpose for 20+ years.

Beekeeping cost? £0.00

KISS

But I am very happy to offer one for sale at £39.99 + of course postage.

Like to see you trying to dig out a load of cappings and solidifed honey leavings from a bucket with that.

I usually store all my cappings in 30lb honey buckets to process in the winter when I have some free time :smilielol5: so by the time I get around to washing and rendering them it's a solid or congealed mass - been using a stainless steel gardener's hand trowel to scoop it out for years.
