Got home at lunch time to find a lot of bees taking interest in a nuc box I have out in the garden thats got old comb in it.
There seemed to be more and more turn up, then about half an hour ago it died off, so I decided t have a look and theres hardly any in it....
I'm not sure what they were doing as there is no food to rob in there...

Scouts looking for new accomodation. You may get lucky if they vote in favour of your nuc, or that may be the last of it......

Looks like they voted against, unless this can carry on over days

Scouts favour a larger box than a nuc - national brood size is about right. You may be lucky though, if there is nothing better for them. Add a few dabs of lemon grass oil to the old comb. Good luck!

I dont know what to make of it they have been back the past two days and then left again :willy_nilly:

Don't move it.....that's what bait hives are all about. One evening you will look in and it may be full of bees
