Leave a a full super of honey for autumn?

Err, that reminded me of: when you are up to your derriere in crocodiles, it is easy to forget the objective was to drain the swamp?:)

Might almost fit this year? Or will we be saying it was 'average' by the time Christmas comes around?

The way the weather is going here on Wales I'll be lucky if I find myself in the dilemma of whether to leave a super on or not.

Going great guns down here South of the Black Mountain, bees are working frantically even through the rain filled the best part of a super in a week. from starting my first season hoping for one or two jars of honey, now worrying I'll get less than a super!
Back to the start of the thread though, my grandfather always left a super on in winter - the reason being during the war(!) you got an extra sugar ration for the bees and you got more money on the black market for sugar than honey (or so he heard once in a pub!!)
