Found in the garden. Any ideas please?
 
Andrena fulva Tawny mining bee. Solitary bee lives in tunnel commonly found in lawns. Look for small soil mound (like miniature volcano) with hole in centre (entrance to tunnel) emerging from lawn.
 
Thanks master BK. I do indeed have lots of little tunnels. Do they lay an egg and abandon the tunnel or live in the hole?

And domino. That's a fail. It's my best finger ;)
 
At a friend's house in Hampshire last week, we are plagued with dozens of these blundering about. I caught a couple, and it seems they were the drones, post-mating, and not long for this world. They didn't have the large eyes of A. mellifera drones, but looked very similar to the one in the image above.
