ok, so swarming season is going a little mad in this area and its hard to keep up with kit, it occurred to me that on spotting swarm QC's you could remove the queen with a few attendants to give you some breathing space at least until the first queen emerges - ie no queen = no swarm
Just wanted to bounce this of others, so by doing this it allows you to prep kit and gives you an extra 5-6 days to sort (must sort before first V queen emerges) - you still have the old queen caged up and being fed at home. It also give you an extra 5-6 days of emerging bees to add to the AS that you will do once you are ready kit/setup.
Just been doing a site with 12 hives, first 4 checked all needed full AS, 8 more to do in the morning and odds are there will be more.....crazy
