    The Welsh Beekeeper

No need for petitions. Have a look at: http://www.wbka.com/learn/swarm-control-wally-shaw/ Don't know how long it'll be available, so watch them now. If there’s anything else you want them to put on the site, why not just send them an email. I did and look what happened!

    Grumpy Old Beekeeper

As members of welsh associations you can all send stuff to the magazine if you want, perhaps not Jenkins if he's resigned! but I'm sure they wouldn't mind. I thought the Lesotho article was very good, are you going back for a follow up?

    Plastic Foundation

Has anyone any experience of using plastic foundation. Questions like: how do the bees like it: how best to clean/sanitise it: best make: is it ok as brood: does plastic fit into regular wooden frames …….. etc Thanks for any thoughts, Willis

    The BBKA website

Bridge Picture But you forget to mention that you were in error and it is actually the Manai Suspension Bridge, one of the most iconic images of Wales. But it does demonstrate that peoples perceptions of a website are based on different factors, some on general appearance, some on...

    A Painful Newbie Experience

painful possibly just a case of bad timing! Bad weather, perhaps they had been defending against a wasp attack, poss queen problem. It's the sort of thing you'll find difficult to get to the bottom of unless they're angry all the time. Fingers crossed for the next visit, hope they're happier...

    Honey Crop

On the lines of the 'I got squillions of pounds of honey' thread currently running, has anyone ever worked out how much honey a 10 frame (for example) super can actually hold. There must be a finite amount as there would still need to be bee space between frames etc. Perhaps one for the maths...

    Bees attack Hens

Thanks all, those previous posts are most informative, the hens were indeed in a pen so couldn't 'escape' I've got 30/40 hens at home about the same distance from 2 hives but they've got free range and there's never been any problems there. I think the answer will be to give the hens more space.
