    Silvercrest jam maker damage

Might give it a go (Komparness) but will wait for the Chinese Ebay job to arrive first. Either way I'll review for info'.

    Silvercrest jam maker damage

If anyone is sending their Silvercrest 'jam maker' to the graveyard, I'd be in the market to purchase the plastic tap.

    Silvercrest jam maker damage

Thanks Pargyle and everyone else, I'm now back to talking to myself after the catastrophe. I’ll report back as to the fit for the ebay one as it may help someone in the future. Once again, thanks all, I didn't think the likelihood of finding a jam maker graveyard for parts was very likely.

    Silvercrest jam maker damage

Thought I'd tidy up the garage and managed to do just that until the final move. I lifted the Silvercrest jam maker / honey warmer to put it on a shelf and in doing so whacked the tap / pourer, which of course snapped, making it useless. It's a pretty vulnerable part and it has, possibly...

    Last years part filled Supers

Whilst taking a look at them I managed to knock a couple and the honey was runny, so not granulated.

    Last years part filled Supers

Thanks for the prompt replies. Extraction is likely the route to go down and allow the bees to clean up the comb? She was a competent beekeeper and I'm sure her bees would have been healthy, would the honey likely be ok for my own use?

    Last years part filled Supers

I've been gifted 4 Supers from an elderly Beek who can no longer manage. They were stored in her garage from last year, covered and dry. Some are totally capped and the remainder are part filled with honey exposed and part capped. The frames show no sign of mould. The cappings look like a very...

    Defective Gas Vap Burner

Have the blowtorch upside down and use the refill canister on top, so you fill downwards. Hope that makes sense. Works for me.

    Soft Set Consistency

Thanks all, interesting replies, especially about different colours. I suppose I'm happier if I think I'm going in the right direction and having some reference points does that for me.

    Soft Set Consistency

Dani, I'm eating, wouldn't have the confidence to show. I do like the taste, but was unsure of how it ought to look, I've been keeping it in the garage to get it to set and I've enjoyed trying something, for me, that's different. Any idea of the consistency if the ratio is increased from 10% seed?

    Soft Set Consistency

No excuses needed. That sounds like what to aim for. Any mention of a favoured colour. Thanks

    Soft Set Consistency

I'm probably over thinking, as usual, but what would be the correct consistency of soft set honey? Mine is a light lemon curd colour, smooth and when spooned stays nicely (clings) on the spoon without any dripping (apologies for the level of description). I'm wondering if it should be firmer, as...

    Cheers, I'll keep some back.

    Soft Set

I've got hold of a smooth one, or at least I think so, less muscle power required!
