Hello

My partners parents really like whisky and I was wondering whether anyone has a good honey whisky recipe. Can I emphasise that I don't want it to be fancy so I don't want someones magical coca cola recipe - just something straight forward to make but tastes good.

Many thanks
Tim

Straight is the answer

35ml Jameson 1 teaspoon fresh honey and thats it!

Believe me its good.

2 parts water, 2 parts honey, boil, skim off foam, add grated ginger root & Lemon zest, allow to cool, add 3 parts whisky, strain, store if you can.

An alternative is the Polish drink Kruppnik.
I find it an interesting alternative for a change -- basically Honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and cloves topped up with vodka --- hot( like mulled wine) or cold (like neat whiskey) --- loads of regional variations to include other ingrediants ( black Pepper is good, citrus peel also)
Particularly good with strong honey that can hold its own with the spices ( I use Ivy honey )
