Its not a glib comment guys but us beeks end up cobbling all sorts together. You can do this as a winter project surely? I made this sign earlier this summer, up close the lettering is pants granted but, all in for £20 including paint and it feels great when your own sign is selling your own honey
2 x small fence posts £4 each
1 metapost to fit (so I can take it down when not wanted) £5
Brown ext gloss paint (small) £6.50
Letters stencilled by printing big on tracing paper from the PC!
6mm ply from the garage (it was just as cheap to buy a full sheet when I topped up on crown boards earlier)
Hinges from an old gate so the bottom swings in the wind
Screws and stuff from 'stock'
Oh and white gloss from the 'selection' we all have in the garage!
One of the forum members has just made us a new house sign and I can't recommend him enough. He did a brilliant job, exactly what we wanted at a very reasonable price. His forum name is painterman, look him up, you won't regret it.
Admin-I hope I'm allowed to say all that without getting in trouble?
We found that there is a local sign maker who actually specialises in lorry decor... however he has done our business sign and made us temp signs for our swing board for a very reasonable price of £43 for TWO!
Worth looking to see if someone near you can do vinyl.
My Missus (BA Hons, Fine Art) will be pleased to hand paint you a sign, A3 size, double sided if needed.
£30 single sided, £45 double sided
p.m. me with details of what you require on the sign.
