Wax Melter/honey warmer

Anyone tried one of these ?

The photo linked is of a unit essentially identical to the Mk 1 (non-digital) Lidl so-called Jam Maker (though tea urn would have been a better description!)
The forum has lots of references. Searching for Lidl Jam would be the place to start.



I see that the linked item is being offered at £116.
When Lidl sold them, the price was about £35.
There is a nice stainless steel version (with the digital controller) being offered on eBay for about £125 delivered.

The non-digital control version is simpler to control via an external (even better) temperature controller.

Got a very nice S/S Burco water boiler tea urn for nowt when I put in a request on the local Freecycle website. It wasn't for me - just wanted to prove a point. When offered in my BKA newsletter it got snapped up sharpish.
