Trees for Bees

[For want of a better word]

Have a whole avenue of Alder leading down to one of my apiary sites... wish they were Lime... but is there a crop of honey to be had from the Alder?

Now we have the fruiting bodies I can see the difference!!

Alder have catkins so I would imagine they are wind pollinated. Male and female flowers on same branch

Pollen and propolis as I learned. If I recall right, it is orange pollen.
