Take sample of bees, put in mortar, add a wee bit of water, grind up, from pestle put one drop of mix onto slide, observe under 'scope.

Count.

Done.

Wash out and open next matchbox.

Thank you HM. Very interesting link, explained in simple terms. Mashing of bees doesn't appeal to me tbh, but these things must be done it seems if I am to become a fully fledged beekeeper :)
 
It wasn't an odd comment, it was a disparaging remark, and well earned given the context, however unnecessary.

HiveMaker found and shared a step by step set of instructions and was applauded by BCrazy who essentially appreciated the value of the find and for bringing it to the attention of the forum.

You chose at that point, apparently, to belittle the find, which is what you would possibly advocate as a submission for an Education Project.

So no need for the lighting a smoker video then? (cant remember who suggested that).
