I don't often get to use an SEM - all mine are TEMS but I put a lunchtime to good use yesterday. I'm pretty sure the coloured up grain is squash pollen but I don't know about the others - this is pollen gathered from the inspection board.

I'll post up more when I'm done playing with false colours.

That is pretty awesome, mind if I copy it?

How do you colour it - digital post processing?

Go on then, as long as I don't find it for sale anywhere ;). I've not found an easy way to colour images - that was photoshop using the magic wand to make a crude mask that I then tidied up manually, there's two layers of colour to give a bit of shadowing.

I prepped 70 pollen slides over the summer to spend the winter looking at, I wish I'd had the sense to save more samples for the SEM.

Lucky lucky you.....A TEM is in my win lottery wishes.
Can I request a dandelion one? One of my favorites.
I can send you some pollen.

Is it okay if I "nick" this for some of my lectures....full acknowledgements will be given....by the naked apiarist!
