Just got back from one of the apiaries.

I decided to slop on the fondant as they were so short on stores, deciding to refuse most of the syrup feast in Sep/Oct. Also the girls have been flapping around outside for weeks. Fortunately all still alive and some even relaxing above the crownboard.

Will leave them now 'til oxalic acid time and then reassess those stores.

First time I've ever put fondant on so early and first time they've all needed a feed.

Tomorrow I'll see how the others are all doing.

Well done for picking up on the store situation, but keep on top of it, mine are using loads each week at the moment, every time I check it makes me wonder how they have taken it all down in a week.

Same situation for me. I have never fed fondant before, but this year they seemed far less interested in syrup than I expected them to be, so I'm getting the fondant on and keeping a close eye on things.
