My colonies by the railway are bringing in bright yellow pollen one their heads and thoraxes. It looks like yellow marker pen. It is bright and doesn't look powdery or silvery - not balsam. What do you think it is?

It is mostly not in their pollen baskets. It has to be from a funnel shaped flower, not a flat flower like sunflower or ragwort.

Do you mean like an illuminous yellow? I saw one or two of Dusty's bees with this bright pollen. I can't see the image posted so I don't know if it's the same.

masses of dandilons out down here at the moment, all the verges are covered in them after the councils cut them in the last couple of weeks.
