No rush, just wondering how you'd go about dealing with it if they don't get around to capping it.

I'd leave them on but do give them more space if both are as full as you suggest.

And I would get a refractometer if I were you. It gives you great confidence that your honey will store properly if you can be sure the water content is well under 20%.

But be sure to calibrate it with an oil –-you can use mineral or virgin olive oil though I can't remember the amount it is on here somewhere. It is easy, taking only seconds and well worth the small expense.
