Light film under filtered wax

Hi all.
Been using a solar wax melter. Loving it.
I'm getting a very fine light film at the bottom of the wax. See attached image.
This is after I have filtered it. I filter it with a sheet of kitchen paper, I pour it into a foil container and pour boiled water and let it set.
It can be scraped off or rubbed off. It looks like wax.
Just wondering what it is.

That's why you should be using rainwater. Tap water too hard in most areas.
