Keeping a nuc as a nuc.

Normally I let a nuc build up and transfer it to a hive.
If you want to keep it as a nuc I know the usual method is to periodically remove a frame of brood and donate it to another colony.
I was wondering about other options. For example positioning the nuc on one side, and close to, the "recipient" colony, then every few weeks moving it to the other side of the recipient colony. This would mean they lose the flying bees to the recipient colony and will be weakened. Thus keeping the nuc as a nuc and helping keep a productive colony with a big team of foragers.
Any thoughts?

I'm not convinced.... Sounds like a short enough distance that they will relocate it. You'll still need to inspect so might as well switch frames out or just split the nuc and buy in a queen when it's full. Then sell off or donate the extra nuc if you don't want it.

Yes, that works, but don't try it outside a flow or fighting will result. The method is similar to the last stage of the official Pagden.
