Bit of advice... My (one remaining) hive is doing well I think. Queen's laying. Three good frames of brood. However, there 3 frames of crystalised ivy honey from the end of last year (see picture). Plus a super of more of it I left on over winter.

Should I do anything with this, or leave it alone?

Second question... I found a small empty queen cup (see second picture) - probably only a couple of drone brood cells. Is this a play cup?

Hive is really cold. 3 frames brood. It tells enough.

Then vain winter stores and vain space on loft.

Don't tell that you have mesh floor.

I bet that, that if you put for the colony 5 frame nuc box, bees go all inside.

In that box you should have 3 brood frames, one food & pollen frame and one foundation.

If brood frames have much food, give 2 empty comb frame or 2 fpundations.
No mesh floor open.

Finman, as usual, is bang on the button.
Three frames of brood is a little feeble. I would follow his advice.

The second picture looks like a play cup, upside down in the picture I assume?

:iagree: A colony with three frames of brood is too small to be in a full sized box.
