Picked up a swarm this morning, already boxed by a beek neighbour who has Italians on only one brood box with 3 supers and wondered why they swarmed a while (not sure how long) after doing as A/S. Have now suggested he go to double brood or at least brood n half, when they've built back up a little.
This was one of two swarms lost (and recaptured) on the same day, from two Italian colonies (and the A/S hive). He's keeping the other.
Take note, don't let it happen to you:.)
I dont mind Italians when they're free:.)
