Interesting ... but the science papers are only accessible in Dutch ...

The synopsis states that the iron is dispensed in very specific quantities to be effective and the feeding medium is Vinasse (A type of Molasses) which has adverse side effects on the bees ... but doesn't state what these side effects are ...

If it assists with the problem of Varroa as the article suggests then that's very positive but there's a lot here that is unsaid ... perhaps there's more detail somewhere ...

The synopsis suggests that there are no varroa in Australia because Eucalyptus pollen is high in iron.

I think there's a much better reason why there are no varroa in Australia, and it has nothing whatsoever to do with Eucalyptus!
 
There's a Eucalyptus tree in my apiary, but it didn't help my first colony one bit :(
