Hive moving

Just moved my hive 3foot today, I need to move it 30 foot. How long do I need to leave it in its new position before I can safely move it some more.
ps dont wont to move it 3 miles away before bringing it back.

When i moved mine i made sure they had a good flying day between moves so they could relocate themselves.

left it a bit late - you could have moved it in a oner over the winter proper.

I thought you could move them in one go over the winter but an experienced bee keeper said not, thats why I have elected to move them 3 foot at a time. Thanks for the replies I will move them every four days now, shift worker.

you can move them however far you like in cold snaps when they are not venturing out. if in doubt you just place an obstruction in front of hive to force reorientation.
