Had a swarm arrive in a bait hive today. It has an old brood comb and 3 frames of foundation in a full size national.
I need to move it about 30ft and add some more foundation as I presume they will draw it out pretty quickly.
When is best to move it? Sooner the better?
When should I add foundation?
When should I inspect?

I'd move it pronto while they are still in swarm mode and haven't orientated to new site.
Can't move it 30ft after that.

I'd fill with foundation now before they start producing wild comb, I'd feed after 3 days and inspect in a week.

I may not be right, but it's what I'd do

Ok thanks for the advice.
Plan is to move the hive tonight.
Tomorrow afternoon (working during day) add the remaining foundation and leave for a week.
I'm next to masses of OSR so feeding probably not needed?

and put a queen excluder atop the floor ... or they may be off again... particularly if moving

add a feeder
