Well after a manic rush to get there I found the auction started and a good many lots already sold by 1.15pm !
Not as busy as previous years and number of lots down too.

Only 4 lots of bees - 3 nucs and 1 hive. One Nuc was queenless and had bald brood yet went for £150....the full colony for £370 I believe

Other highlights were a 200kg ripening Tank for £110 and 15.5kg of wax that went for £115 or there abouts. Utter madness prevailing !

MVBKA next weekend

I managed to pick up some reasonable bargains, like six supers in the flat for a £5 each and a nice large well made & brand new skep for swarm collecting for £25. As Somerford says, quite often, such was the prices things were going for that by and large it was cheaper to buy new on line.

All that being said, thanks to GBKA for putting it on and look forward to next years, it's still a great auction.
