i thought i would post some pics of cedar i just bought.this has recently been cut and the grain really stands out when its wet.i will dry whats in the house for around 6 weeks before working it .the rest of it, which is in my shed ,will probably take a lot longer given the cold damp weather.when dry i will plane it to size and make brood boxes.it will be nice to work with something other than pine or ply.

yes, only a few small knots through the whole lot,80 percent of the boards are knot free.dry this and then get more for floors, roofs and supers.i didnt get a large amount because its my first from this supplier and i didnt know the quality.he said because its for hives its only taken from the centre of the trunk and i can see that from the end grain.
