Good morning all, I am extracting this weekend and will give the supers back to bees to clean out. So quick question, do you put the supers back above or below the BB as I imagine the bees will store what's left for the winter? Thanks

If you're planning on removing the supers for storage it is easier to put them above the BB, but put them above a crown board with a feeder hole open, or make a board with a 10mm or so hole in the centre - the bees should rob any honey and take it down to the brood box.

An alternative is to place a super under the BB but leave it there until the spring. It gives a bit more space for stores and also for expansion in the spring.

Another alternative is to just store your super frames wet :)

So when you store them wet, do you wrap them in something to keep the ants, earwigs, etc. out?

Worth adding if poly supers then mice WILL chew their way into them if given a chance. That is one rich nutrient source for them in the depths of winter.
