Hope you've not got laying workers too. Poor Veg). Would''ve thought you'd have noticed drone brood in super though so I guess not.

Are there a lot of drones in the super? or just a few?

I have found that unless I put cover boards under and on top of the supers when they are off for an inspection of the brood box any drones flying about home in on the honey smell for a free nosh:)

I too have drones in one super. I watched with the QE on as they pushed and squeezed themselves throught the QE. Queen is in the brood chamber. No holes in the QE.
I'm leaving them alone.

Brood is good, queen is good but just a few in the super, likely a few drones flying around got in without notice.
