Drone mating areas - Yealmpton

Hi All
I have a few hives dotted around South Devon. Queen mating has generally been good but we have had no success at all in our hives which are close to Yealmpton. I am aware of another local bee keeper who has had trouble mating queens in the area & wondered whether there are ever areas where drones do not congregate for reasons unknown.

There’s drones in your hives and other beeks in the area, they’ll be going somewhere. I’d look at other factors rather than the lack of something that should be occurring perfectly naturally.
