Hello everyone

I'm curious to find out what are the average measurements for top-bar hives in the field, whether home-made or store bought. If you have a top-bar hive, please tell me where you got it and also what its outside measurements are, according to this schematic:

I only need A, B and C. Also please tell me how long is your top-bar hive (i.e. mm, inch, or number of bars).

Then I can expand my spreadsheet:

Thanks

I borrowed a follower and made my top bar to this
Follower size is
Bottom 5" (127mm)
top 14 11/16" ( 372mm)
side wall 12" (305mm)

fixed top bar to follower is 17" long x1 3/16 wide x 9/16 deep (430 x 30 x 14)

top bars are of same size or some smaller 1"....

length is 48" (1220)
open mesh floor

entrance x3 are centralised with one opposite at each end.

Lid has a condersor box filled with Alpaca wool amd fits over top bars and guide runner along length to hold in place ( ie prevent side slippage)
Roof sits on legs as per Phill's design
The Alpaca wood gives a high degree of insulation and controls humidity in hive.

I keep NZ Italian bees in it.

By far and away better than the Dartingtingtong Top bar hives I had in the past, no problem without a frame 9 in fact if a frame is used as with the box types bees just brace comb in the frames to the sides!

Also.. whole top bar was boiled in pure beeswax after assembly!
