Hi,

Has anyone out there got any of the new BIVO mating hives?

If you mean the thing on page 6 of their 2012 catalogue - then no but many thanks for pointing it out. It looks very interesting but not exactly cheap - about £40.00 including a couple of folding frames. Although I guess it is a twin hive so about £20.00 "each" which is comparable to retail price for an Apidea. Perhaps not so bad after all. But I doubt the "English National" has long lugs. Probably more of a Smith frame but it would still work.

They have been at Stoneleigh in recent years so it should be possible to pick some up from them but best to pre-order I think.

Rooftops,

I've got a couple and will try and get some pictures uploaded. I'm thinking of converting them to work with 14 x 12 frames which might be possible with some minor tweaks.

As far as I know Bienen-Voight & Warnholz won't be attending the BBKA Spring Convention this year.

Where did you get them from Oxfordbee? Abroad?
