I have had a bee brought to me by someone who has bees in their house...don't know the full story. It looks very much like a honey bee, although it is smaller, and it's antennae seem a bit different. Can anybody confirm whether it is a honey bee or what else it could be. I've put one of my dead honey bees,(the bigger one) found in the wheelbarrow next to it for size comparison. Thanks

looks a bit like a leaf cutter bee.
i have them in my greenhouse they make little nests that look like a small cigar.

It certainly looks like a leaf cutter bee, after goggling them, but they are solitary bees, and apparently these bees are nesting in the brickwork of the chimney, and lots are coming into the house. I suppose there could be lots of solitary bees nesting in the same site, like miner and masonary bees do.

Are you joking about it being a wasp? I didn't know of any wasps that look so much like a honey bee. Or are there some.

Thanks for your help, folks. Much appreciated.
