saw this flying pair in my garden today nice looking things they were flew like hover bee but looked like a dumpy honey bee ideas ?

Looks like a Bee Fly. I saw one in my garden the other day and I think there was recently a thread on here with the same / similar thing.

This is a bee fly...
Looks like the one in the OP's photo - note the long legs.

looks like a hummingbird moth to me

was defo a beefly had lots in garden since i took picture, found out lay eggs in my solitary bees nests and eat the grubs the swines!
