Hi All,

Hope you have all had a nice christmas.

I am looking at administering oxalic acid very soon and at the same time putting some fondant on the hives. My two questions are:-

1. Are there any recipes or is it easier to buy fondant?

2. If I am making it myself then I will be placing it in plastic trays. can I turn these upside down over the feed holes in the crown board or does it need to be directly on the top bar of the frames? (and therefore may need an eke)?

Thanks

Andy

You have options!

You can make it or buy it - about £15 for 12.5kg to buy.

You can put it direct on the frames (but will need an eke) or on the crown board. The latter risks the bees not being able to reach it but it's worked Ok for me so far (2 winters)...
