A/S done yesterday all looking fine, but I made a long hive( darlington style ) there are a number of bees in there. Are they scouts looking for a new home. There is only foundation in there a swarm lure and Some syrup just in case??? Any ideas?????????????????????:sos:

why put syrup in you will have unknown bees robbing it out.

I put syrup in after I found the bees in there, there was only foundation in there.

I think a swarm lure (lemongrass?) and some foundation is enough to attract a swarm, they won't be looking for somewhere that's got food on tap, but will be looking for somewhere to live.

If you leave the syrup in you risk having all the local bees thinking the hive is a feeding station, and could end up with a lot of fighting which could spill over into your occupied hives when and if the syrup runs out.

I had better remove the feed cheers

Check this morning 20-30 very cold bees in hive, what r they doing in there, they cant be scouts any ideas???
