It looked like Roger Patterson on the video- will ask him ..

Think I recognise the shirts... and the smoker between the knees- it is COMPULSORY at his Assoc. Conform or go...

Do I want a smoked gusset :ack2:- dont answer that!!! Ok for you tall people but.....

:iagree: with Heather about the smoking bit.

Not too keen on the bare hands all the time either, or the lack of cleaning bucket or milk crate hive stands - ah well. It is what the end result is that counts, so I guess we will have to wait and see.

Meg

Yep, but never seen him move so fast, bless him. And never could name a man just by his pants! Hmmm Brad Pitt... give it a go

But it is educational and that is what matters. Just so long to release.

Come on- back to the video - why cannot some enterprising group on this forum produce this sort of thing- and sell them.
I can do a smoke free demo....;)

They're charging £3.50 for a DVD rental - seems a lot to me - what do others think?

It would be nice if we could preview the DVDs (or even watch the whole thing) on the website but I guess that's about as likely to happen as the BBKA website to work 100% on launch!

R2

£3.50 does seem expensive for DVD hire these days, but I don't think they have much choice:

- Can't just stick them all on the internet, because they don't own the copyright.

- Can't get the prices down lower by running a super-efficient operation, because the volume of rentals is probably tiny.

I'm really grateful to those of you who take the time and trouble to record new material and post it where everyone can watch it.

So anybody know when these DVDs are coming out in 2012?

If they are not finishing filming until 2012 then this will take them well into summer at the earliest - and then there is the editing. So my guess would be late 2012, possibly very late.

The presence of RP worries me but providing it takes into account the beekeeping methods of several different beekeepers then it could be a useful series of videos. I just hope it isn't the gospel according to RP - who as already mentioned has very fixed views on how beekeeping should be done and of course, if this is the case, I look forward to the video on the use of ley lines for swarm control.

He is coming to our Assoc talking about ley lines this Wednesday. Something I have never considered... I will keep an open mind. He has very fixed views - but still knows more than me so I will respect that-

I just get cross when he rubbishes our Tuition days because we have only kept bees 6 years. Says we are beginners just reading a book.
Well, we seem to have v good feedback- and don't send anyone away telling them they are too old!
