I have collected my annual honey crop.

When I have bottled some of my buckets, I have noticed a funny for the first time. In some batches of the jars, the honey has separated into 2 layers. The upper layer is normal honey colour and the lower layer is almost clear. I have not fed the production hives and taken the supers off only in Aug/Sept.

Any thoughts ?

Different forage. It happens. Some is more dense than others and sinks to the bottom. It will do that in the jars too unless you mix it well!

I too have experienced this if the honey has been left to stand for some time, even 3 or 4 different layers can be seen.
