I guess it depends what it is made from, mine is made from aluminium and is embossed 'use no soda' on the inside near the top. If yours is stainless steel it is probably ok. Roger

I always light the smoker just in case, never smoke the entrance and most times do not use it at all.

Some Langstroth boxes were machined with a rebate that was not intended to have frame runners fitted, I have some brood and super boxes like that. If someone were to fit frame runners to boxes with a similar rebate the top bee space would be lost. Roger

It is worth remembering that should one have an unmated queen in the box she will not be able to get out to mate while QE is on, or back in if already out. Roger
