Watched the Bees today bringing loads of yellow pollen in then went to a walk and found there source, a willow tree, happy days. I then swapped my super from the bottom off the brood box back on top, all set for summer

Wel wiith 200,0000 hives 3k is a bargain

Don't rush things, don't interfere with the bees unless necessarily and if in doubt put the hive back together and ask for advice, never knee jerk react :welcome: And for a beginner the above is a challenge

I would have posted this in the beginners section TBH but me personally think it's to early for build up syrup but same old thing ask a beekeeper a question expect many different answers. Also I suppose it depends what your plan is for your bees this year?

It just shows location, strain, weather, beekeepers choice or just luck is right I have three colonies all treated with Aplilife in Sept, and trickled a week ago as weather had been chilled for a few days, drop on all hives after trickling and inspection boards in for min 7 days no more than...

Thanks Sherwood as the crow flys probably about two miles from Cannock Chase so a good chance it being heather, It's my only hive on this location my others are further away from the chase.

Second full year and I completed my summer extraction all good, I have one hive piling in on balsam and they have filled a super big time so I thought ok get the extractor out again to top my stock up, well uncapped the frames and into the extractor they went. OMG just jelly like lumps came...

Just a quick update on hives, Nuc box queen has mated with BIAS, main hive queen mated with BIAS and swarm hive queen mated with BIAS as off today's inspection. Let's hope they build up to get through winter.:ohthedrama:
