    Simon the beekeeper honey extractor

Don't see the point in that as you can deal with one super in a bigger extractor and won't need to buy a bigger one later.does it take longer to clean a 12 frame extractor than a 4 frame one.If it was just down to money though you would obviously buy a smaller extractor.

Forced varroa drop and selection of hives

[ Or The mites in that hive are resistant to OA and you should immediately kill the entire mite content of the hive and their bees as well as collateral damage. Or.. Bee's have no resistance to oa as far as i am aware.

    Pick up Truck

Navara's are every bit as good as the toyota's now, years back toyota were the front runners but they all seem to have caught up now.i have a old land rover and a large trailer as the double cab trucks would just be just too small for my needs,i can get more in my berlingo. All those big jap...

    Pick up Truck

Nearly all the aforementioned trucks are no good for beekeeping unless they have a single cab,as the load space on double cabs is too small.your probably end up needing a trailer if you keep building you hive numbers.

    Bee imports continue to rise

So you would like to see an end to all agricultural imports. How about over billions and billions of british exports to over 200 overseas countries.would you like to see that come to an end also,or is it the old cake and eat it scenario.

    Simon the beekeeper testimony

i bought a veil from simon as a spare to leave in the van and it was very cheap and very poor quality, but you get what you pay for.I certainly wouldn't wear as my main veil as the quality is that bad.The delivery was good though, and for the record this is not part of a smear campaign.

    Queen marking

I always leave her in the plastic plunger for a few mins and blow on her a few times and there's usually no issues, but as with most things there's always an element of risk.

    Push-in cage for queen introduction

This is my experience with push in cages some of the time, but as finman said they are not a magic tool.i make my own out of varroa mesh as the shop bought white plastic ones i feel dont dig in deep enough into the wax and the bee's seem able to burrow underneath. All this said i feel puch in...

    Think I made a mistake

I have noticed the same reaction when marking a queen and the weather has turned a bit nippy, they become a bit lethargic but once down between the frames they are usually ok.

I use wood pellets, the type you use in fire stoves and they seem to burn for ages.they work out about 5 euro's a 15kg sack and they smell nice and don't tar up your smoker.
