Like that idea. Time is wasted trying to cut the tops off parts of frames that are not protruding. Have some unmade supers and will give that a try. Like trying to different things to see what works best.

I just find when it is very hot the propolis goes really gluey on top. But yes most by a log shot of time it is on. Just when over 30 or so

Mine are closed. A tile on top. Also I have open mesh floors so enough ventilation. Also have celotex on top in all but the hottest period. Closed wood floors may be a different theory?

Have moved them too far. My apiary is further away from swarm site than normal flying distances. You weren’t to know that though.
