Kept bees on allotment with written permission from council for 10 years. No problems. Then we get a new town clerk and bees and any other livestock had to go. No appeal.
Yes ... that's the risk with allotments. One of my friends, up North, had a thriving allotment with about 30 other plot holders, it was a private site, not council, the site had been allotments since before anyone living could remember. The owner died, his son inherited it, got outline planning permission for housing and sold the site. Allegedly retired on what it was sold for ! The plot holders got 3 months notice in accordance with their plot licences. There were lots of objections to the housing development but it went through. You just never know ...

That sorta happened here with the chucks, There's one flock on a plot but no more are allowed and when it goes so does the permission. There's no other hives allowed on site but this is due to my bees are so out of the way it's not possible to get anywhere near them unless on purpose.
