Queenless in March

One of my colonies seemed a bit quiet today so I thought I'd take advantage of the 16 degree weather and take ģa closer look. Turns out although there are still a good number of bees, there is no brood other than a few capped drone cells.
Is there no point t in putting a frame with eggs and brood in as no drones about at beginning of april? Should i just try to unite it?

not really, apart from maybe confirming there's no queen, at this time of year most colonies will have not that much brood so all you will be doing is depriving another colony of much needed brood when they are trying to build up, if you just unite you are taking the risk that they are queenless - if not you could end up with just a larger, dwindling colony. Personally I would just leave them for a little while longer, if still no improvement, cut your losses and shake them out.
