Have kept bees for six years, with up to 12 colonies.
I have hooper as my bible, also books by Tautz, Donald Sims and Manley, microscopy books and Dade, and the usual beginners tomes.
Thinking of Wedmore -manual of beekeeping and the book reviewed in latest BBKA mag - principles of bee improvement by Jo Widdicombe.
Any thoughts?
I obviously want something with a bit of substance and looking to bee improvement/queen rearing
Thanks

I got 'The Bee: A Natural History' recently it's excellent.

Not really a beekeeping handbook but a great bee read

Depends on what you want to read really, how to keep 'em? or more about 'em?
Mating Biology of Honey Bees (Apis mellifera)
By Gudrun Keoniger et al is an excellent readable, up to date, definitive review of this fascinating subject with some excellent photography thrown in.
