Just wondered if anyone has put there name down to buy one of these hive monitors?

If you ignore the cost looks like an interesting tool for monitoring remote Apiary, not sure on the claims but gives a lot of interesting information:

Apiary Temperature
Beekeeper can remotely monitor apiary temperature. Warns beekeeper when protective action may be required in severe weather conditions.

Theft (Hive Moved)
Automatic alert (email and/or SMS) if a hive has been moved giving the beekeeper the opportunity to take immediate action.

Vandalism (Hive Tipped Over)
Automatic alert (email and/or SMS) if a hive has been tipped over giving the beekeeper the opportunity to take immediate action.

Hive Temperature
Monitors temperature within the hive. Alerts the beekeeper (email and/or SMS) when hive temperature is too high/low so the beekeeper can take appropriate action, such as re-locate hive to warmer or shadier location.

Foraging
Monitors hive activity and identifies weak/low levels of activity and foraging. At a glance the beekeeper can see and compare activity of different hives in the apiary, which get going first/last in the morning etc.

Nectar Processing
Identifies when the bees are ripening honey.

Colony Development
Accurately records colony development, spring build up and reduction over the year. Enables comparison of colony build up between different colonies and hive positions. Provides early identification of weak colony build up.

Hive Homeostasis
Monitors temperature and humidity within the hive. Alerts the beekeeper (by SMS or email) when the hive temperature is too high/low or hive is too humid so that the beekeeper can take appropriate action.

Brood State
Monitors brood temperature and brood humidity. Enables the beekeeper to remotely assess the state of the brood.

Queen Status
Indicates when there is a break in the brood. Informs beekeeper when the queen has stopped laying and the colony has become broodless.

Queen Raising/ Mating
Identifies when the queen has mated and starts laying so you can ‘disturb’ them again. Helps predict the likelihood of drone rearing queens or the possibility of early supersedure.

Bees Robbing honey from other hives
Identifies a sudden increase in daytime flight activity. Identifies low night activity against high daytime activity Beekeeper can take timely preventative action by restricting the entrance to protect the weaker colony.

Swarm Management
Provides advance warning of possible swarming so that the beekeeper can take preventative action. Reduces the need for unpleasant manual swarm inspections which also disrupt honey production. Reduces bee losses.

Oh and by the way I have no links with the product, just curious :)
