A rather depressing email from the NBU, I assume everyone else got it:

Following a credible report of an Asian Hornet sighting in the South East area close to Maidstone, Kent; last week a local Bee Inspector was dispatched to carry out further field investigation.

Following this investigation, we have not been able to verify the report but we would encourage beekeepers particularly in this area to familiarise themselves with the Asian Hornet and remain vigilant when visiting their apiaries and inspecting their colonies.

All rather depressing :(

Yep, you beat me to posting a thread , so removed my txt and will repost here

I've received two email, one from NBU FERA and another from NNIS asking me to be vigilant as I have a sentinal trap and I am close to the M25 corridor(south Mimms) because due to location of the Asian Hornet sighting at Maidstone the suspected route the hornet came in could be via a lorry or container along the M2/M20 then M25

Hopefully just a worker hornet and not a queen that's has hitched a lift
