Yes, and I'm afraid that forgot to post that they were that sort of price (65? 69? p) on a recent (infrequent) foray into Home Bargains.
Lidl and Aldi have been 59p/kg for sugar, so don't go just for the Soda!

Quite agree. A couple of litres of fuel to pick up a packet of soda makes it eexxpeensivve!

Best to just get the soda, and get the sugar from Bako for 48p/kg with free delivery.

I got 110kg of sugar for £40 last week. no im not telling where. But lets just say my wife is annoyed she can t get in the summer house now for it blocking the door hiding the beekeeping equipment that was bought in the sales she doesn't know about lol.
